School General Fund Levy

As you may have seen, there was a recent article in the Stillwater County News regarding the educational needs at the schools and a general fund levy election. Currently, the school is not at the maximum budget that is allowed under the law and this levy would help get the district closer to or at the maximum budget.  The Trustees plan to approve the levy amount at the March 11 meeting. The levy will need voter consideration this spring.

Please see the information page, that will provide you with more detailed information regarding the general fund levy, reasons for the levy, how the general fund is funded, how tax impacts are determined, and other specific funds and their purposes.

Trustees

Columbus Public Schools is currently seeking two trustees for three-year terms and one trustee for a one-year term.  These positions would begin in May after the school election. Anyone qualified for and interested in running for a trustee position may pick up a petition from Karena Econom at the Business Office located at Columbus Middle School or click here for the forms.  The petition must be turned in at the Columbus School District Business office prior to 4p.m. on March 27, 2025.  No candidate may appear on the ballot unless he or she meets this deadline.  If you have any questions about the trustee positions, please call Superintendent Casey Klasna at (406) 322-5373.

Substitutes Needed

We are in need of substitute teachers for the 2024-2025 school year. If you are interested, please stop in the business office for more information or fill out an application here.  Subbing for the school is easy and flexible - all lesson plans are provided and you only take the jobs you want.
